Introducing MMD Studio: A Clean, Fast, Agent-Friendly Mermaid Editor

If you’ve ever used the official Mermaid live editor, you know the pain: a cluttered UI, sluggish rendering, and no way to integrate it into your workflow beyond copy-pasting code.

We built MMD Studio to fix that.

What is MMD Studio?

MMD Studio is a browser-based Mermaid diagram editor that’s fast, clean, and designed to be driven by your coding agent. Write Mermaid syntax on the left, see the rendered diagram on the right, and share it with a single link.

Why we built it

Mermaid is an incredible tool for developers — diagrams as code means your architecture docs live in version control, your sequence diagrams are reviewable in PRs, and your flowcharts stay in sync with reality.

But the existing editors don’t respect that workflow. They’re either bloated web apps that feel like they were designed by committee, or they’re bare-bones text editors with no preview.

We wanted something in between: a focused, fast editor that gets out of your way and lets you draw.

What makes it different

Agent-friendly from day one

Point your coding agent at our SKILL.md file, give it an API token, and it can create, edit, and share diagrams on your behalf. Tell Claude Code or Cursor “draw me a sequence diagram for the OAuth flow” and it just works.

Local-first

No account required to start drawing. Your diagrams live in your browser’s local storage and work fully offline. Sign in when you want to sync across devices or share via stable links.

Clean sharing

Flip a diagram to “anyone with the link” and share a short /d/<id> URL. Recipients get a clean, read-only rendered view with a “Save a copy” button if they want their own version.
